About Us

Firewater UK is a farmer owned and run company based in Yorkshire, dedicated to bringing Plasma Activated Water and its many benefits to UK farmers and growers.

Working closely with the developers and manufacturers, Firewater Ag in Kentucky, USA with the sole aim of increasing farm profits and sustainability by reducing costly crop inputs.

By carrying out extensive farm scale trials using Plasma Activated Water alongside our farm standard practice we aim to reduce inorganic nitrogen fertiliser use by up to 75% a long with a significant reduction in fungicide and insecticide use.

Simon Craven farms in Market Weighton, Yorkshire. For the last 20 years he’s been working the family farm trying to develop and reduce nitrogen dependency to a more economically viable operation. In recent years he’s been working closely with his agronomist Christopher
Coats
trialing new agricultural products (biologicals, biostimulants, nutrition products & soil conditioners) to achieve those goals of reducing the use of synthetic nitrogen, fungicides and pesticides. He’s been testing products in simple tram line field trials comparing against normal farm practice, and shown the ability to achieve a 50 percent reduction in nitrogen and significant reduction in fungicide use. Simon is very excited by generating Nitrogen on-farm via
the Firewater technology, continuing his goals towards greater sustainability. Simon has been relentless in pushing Firewater to import the technology to the UK for testing, and looks forward to being one of the first to use it on his own farm. He is dedicated to getting this new technology onto as many UK farms as possible to help British farmers take back control of their own input costs and become more profitable.

Tim Ellis is a fourth-generation farmer based in Staffordshire, dedicated to cultivating an arable crop rotation with a commitment to sustainability and nature. His focus is on producing nutrient-rich food while simultaneously enhancing biodiversity across his land. Tim has taken significant steps to reduce reliance on artificial inputs. He no longer uses insecticides, plant growth regulators (PGRs), or seed treatments. Instead, he emphasises cover crops, soil health, biological approaches and targeted nutrition to maintain healthy crops, minimising the need for fungicides. Although Tim has successfully reduced nitrogen fertiliser usage, he recognises that it remains a crucial component for crop production, especially in the absence of livestock on the farm. This creates a problem for farming sustainably and reducing the farms carbon footprint – nitrogen currently accounts for 86% of carbon emissions on farm – so he is committed to developing a new approach to crop production using on farm nitrogen production with renewable energy. By focusing on management, effective nutrient cycling, and minimising the reliance on purchased inputs, it will be possible to maintain a robust and profitable farm. Tim’s strategy is designed to maximise the retention of farm income while actively supporting sustainability and ensuring long-term profitability.

Tim Coats is Managing Director of TCE Electrical (www.tceelectrical.com ), a small, family-run company with over 25 years of experience in specialist greenhouse installations. They pride themselves on looking after long-standing customers, which include commercial growers, universities, and research establishments. Tim is the son of a grower and has been raised in the horticulture/agriculture industry. His background gives him a unique understanding of the challenges growers face and the practical solutions needed to support them. TCE is small enough to care, yet large enough to manage complex projects with the expertise gained over decades of hands-on experience. Their portfolio of customers includes leading names such as Lincolnshire Herbs, Yorkshire
Botanicals, Stockbridge Technology Centre, and UK Agri-Tech Centre. TCE Electrical specialises in: Full greenhouse installation and maintenance; LED grow lights and advanced growing systems; Environmental control solutions for the horticultural industry; Electrical installations for industrial, horticultural, and farming applications. Tim will take responsibility for installation of the Firewater machines.
